This week we have completed our working on place value. The children have breaking numbers apart and working out how many tens, hundreds and thousands there are in the numbers. For example there are 157 hundreds in 15 799. By doing this, the children will be able to apply this knowledge when they need to add and subtract 10, 100 or 1000 off a number. This will follow on to next week’s addition and subtraction money unit where they will be putting into practice what they have learnt during the place value unit.
